8.1. The ignition coil

That spark plugs created the spark category, on their electrodes it is necessary to submit a high voltage. Depending on ignition system such pressure of the category makes from above 30 000 Volt.

Factory on manufacture of sparks – the ignition coil

Ignition coils consist of two windings: a primary winding with a small amount of coils (nearby 100) from a thick copper wire (nearby 0,6 мм²) and a secondary winding with several thousand coils from a thin copper wire (nearby 0,1 мм²). Both windings are surrounded ламеллированными by iron cores. From a control mean through the built in module of a high voltage the primary winding receives a current from the storage battery (low voltage). Thereof there is an electromagnetic field which raises a secondary winding. When the management block interrupts this electric chain simultaneously during fractions of a second also the electromagnetic field instantly vanishes. In a secondary winding after that there is a pressure to 400 Volt which generates jump of a power-current (induction) from above 30 000 Volt. Engines Mondeo have electronic systems of ignition with two-spark coils of ignition which in four-cylinder engines reproduce the igniting sparks in working sequence 1 – 3 – 4 – 2 or 1 – 4 – 2 – 5 – 3 – 6 in V6-engines.
