12.7. Prorolling of brake system

Air in brake system "transforms" any brake into «the air pump», therefore in this situation urgently pump over brake system. For example, after carrying out of all works in which it was necessary to remove brake hoses or to open brake pipelines. Often it is quite enough to pump over only a brake contour with which work was spent. With a view of SAFETY, however, it will be better, if both contours are pumped over. Thus ALWAYS use a new brake liquid (specification DOT4 ESD – M6C57A) and a pure transparent plastic hose (system of washing of glasses, aquarian system of aeration). Besides, you should have an assistant. Put the Mondeo on an equal place. During all process of prorolling keep contents of a compensatory tank on a label «MAX». In no event it is impossible to lower level of a brake liquid below a label «MIN». If it occurs, through доливочное the aperture will get again to system a new portion of air.

Pay attention to that the brake liquid has not got on a paint and varnish surface. Otherwise quickly wash out a place of hit by pure water for the varnish becomes "false" or even it is dissolved.

Difference on height Х: about 30 sm should be between a blowing-off tank and the air valve. If the tank is at the corresponding height the air valve is under the pressure of a liquid so through carving coils air will not get into brake system any more.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Disconnect a wire of the storage battery and out of the blue lift the car. Begin prorolling process on the air valve which will defend from the main brake cylinder on the biggest distance. Insert a hose for prorolling on the air valve and... ... Enter other end of a hose into a tank with a small amount of a brake liquid.

    Open the valve approximately on half of turn. Let the assistant slowly "swings" a brake pedal until in a reception tank the liquid with air vials will not flow. Thus observe of that in a compensatory tank there was a brake liquid. If vials of air are not present more and there is only a brake liquid let the assistant keeps a pedal in the lowermost position, and at this time close the air valve. Repeat this process with all valves and then close their protective covers. Check up level of a brake liquid in a compensatory tank and add it to the top label. Put the car on wheels and finish work upside-down.

 THE TECHNICAL DICTIONARY

Brake liquid

The basic compound components of a brake liquid are polyglycol and полигликольэфир. This mix at temperature-40°S remains enough liquid and has very much a boiling heat nearby 290 °С. The brake liquid which has fulfilled the term passes in a category of a special waste, therefore utilise this «poisonous juice» properly.
