13.5. Check of the storage batteryIf, despite the necessary level of electrolit in the accumulator, it makes "languid" impression, by means of the special device check up degree разряженности. Упрощенно this device is the glass cylinder in which special amendments (ареометр) measures level of density of electrolit. For this purpose ареометр checks электролитическую concentration of the soaked up liquid of the accumulator. Certainly, it is possible to measure also level разряженности by means of a multimeter (accuracy отсчитывания ± 0,02 Volt): on the basis of the measured value of the established pressure it is possible to define level разряженности the storage battery.
Measurement of density of electrolit

Before measurement carrying out leave the accumulator at least at six o'clock «in rest».
Remove then запорную an accumulator stopper.
Hold the measuring device in a liquid vertically and soak up in it so much electrolit that ареометр freely floated in the cylinder.

Carry out their comparison on a scale 3 in the top part of aerometre. |

Pressure measurement
