15.21. Dismantle of the lock of a steering

Disconnect the storage battery.
Release screws 1 and clips 2 protective facings under a steering column.

If in yours Mondeo there is a remote control radio system further it is necessary to release by means of a narrow screw-driver a lock clamp from back facing of a column of a steering and …
… then to remove the connecting tip on the remote control switch. Further dismantle the switch.
Separate now the top facing of a column from the bottom. For this purpose on both parties release a lock clamp 1 by means of a narrow screw-driver and remove facing 2.

Now dismantle the bottom facing of a column of a steering (screws are specified by arrows).

Dismantle priemo-transferring block PATS. For the best orientation we will show it at the dismantled steering wheel.

Now dismantle the steering lock. For this purpose turn the ignition key 1 in position «I» and press blocking mechanism 2 narrow screw-driver into the ignition lock-switch. Then completely pull out the lock cylinder.
