11.6. Check of tips of cross-section steering draught and cuffs

On the right and at the left between cross-section steering draught and the lever of a steering trapeze of a rotary support tips settle down.
The steel spherical head is enveloped by self-greased plastic – the cuff filled with special greasing protects it from dirt and moisture penetration. Tips of cross-section steering draughts with a defective cuff or a backlash should be immediately replaced.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

    Check up cuffs of tips of cross-section steering draught on presence of external damages (for example, cracks). Check up, whether has the hinge a backlash. For this purpose is better to put the car over a viewing hole. Ask the assistant to turn quickly a steering wheel some times to the right and to the left. It is possible to feel a hand, whether there is in the hinge a cross-section steering backlash.
